I had a fantastic school trip to England last year. I arrived in London and stayed in a cosy guesthouse. There was so much to do and see. We wanted to visit all the local museums, but we didn’t have enough money. I chose the most popular ones.

One day, when we were travelling to the city centre by underground, I realized that I had got lost. I was very scared because I didn’t know what to do. I’d forgotten to buy a map and there was nobody to ask. When the train stopped, I got off and found a policeman. He was very kind and polite. He even bought me a map. He walked me to the right station and told me some funny stories about London. Later, when I got home, I found a box of traditional English tea in my bag with a small card from the officer. I was very happy.

It was the best day of my holiday. I learnt that police officers are very helpful, and that’s why I want to become one in the future.

Hello ABC,

I’m sorry I haven’t written for so long but I have been busy. I want to tell you about a meeting that took place at our school.

A local doctor was invited to talk to our class. He has been a doctor for more than 10 year and works in the hospital in our town. I was very surprised because he was very friendly and patient. He answered all our questions about his work. I used to want to be a doctor, but I’m not so sure now.

I think I will become a firefighter in the future. This job is very dangerous and requires a lot of stamina and responsibility. Firefighters help people in many dangerous situations – during natural disasters and in emergency situations. They even help trapped animals. What would you like to do in the future? Have you found your dream job?

That’s all for now. Write to me soon.

Love,

XYZ

Hello ABC,

I’m sorry I haven’t written for so long but I have been busy. I want to tell you about our visit to a local post office.

Last week, our class went to a local post office to have a closer look at their work. We talked to postmen about their job – they not only deliver letters and parcels , but also help to sort them. I found out that I can also pay bills and top-up my phone at the post office. The clerks at the post office can also transfer money to different bank accounts, even abroad.  I still don’t know what I want to do in the future. I think I will become a teacher. I love spending time with children and creating new games and activities.  I sometimes help my mum with her preparation for lessons. I have to study hard to get good grades and be able to go to university.

What do you want to do in the future? Do you still want to become a policeman?

That’s all for now.

Write back soon. Say hello to Sam.

Love,

XYZ

LOST

On Monday 12th September I lost my tablet. I last had it in the local museum around 2pm.

It’s a modern, almost new Lenovo. The tablet was in a pink case with Hello Kitty on it. There is a big, white sticker on the back cover. The tablet screen is scratched.

Please help me find it!

If found, please call Ania on 6666-2222-555

There is a reward for the finder.

Kate, I won’t make it to dinner tonight because the party is tomorrow. I have already bought some balloons and cleaned the living room. Could you please go to the bakery and buy the birthday cake? Don’t forget to do some shopping. I’ve left you a list on the kitchen table. Could you also clean the bathroom?? Remember to do your homework, especially English – write that report for Mrs. Smith Take care,

Jane

Mum,

I won’t be home for dinner. I’m sorry, but I have to stay at school and help Mrs. Roberts prepare the charity walk, and I have to collect my books from the library. Don’t worry, I did my homework at school during the lunch break. Please remember to call uncle Steve, it’s his birthday tomorrow. I have already sent him a card. I have bought some milk, so you don’t have to.

Take care,

Sara

Hi there,

I’m sorry I haven’t written for so long but I have been extremely busy. I told you before that I had moved to Warsaw with my parents and changed school. My first day at school was awesome! I was scared that I wouldn’t make it on time because my new school is huge and I got lost. Fortunately, a nice lady from the office told me the way. My new class is great – everybody is friendly and helpful. When I entered the classroom, everybody welcomed me very nicely. I was surprised because they even offered me help with my timetable and extra activities. I’ve made a new friend, Tom. He is very polite and reliable, we even live on the same street.

What surprised me the most were the school uniforms. They are smart and comfortable, they even look fashionable. I got it from my school and I will have to get used to wearing it. I didn’t have to wear a uniform at my previous school.  This year is very important. I have to pass my exams with flying colours if I want to study medicine. I have even joined extra chemistry and physics classes. What plans do you have this year?

Stay tuned!

Hello guys,

I have been in the USA for 2 months now and today I want to tell you about my new school. It is amazing! I usually go to school early in the morning, around 7.30. I often go by bus, yeah – the yellow ones that you see in films. When my dad has time, he drops me off a bit later. I was surprised at the beginning – can you imagine I have to wear a uniform! It is compulsory for everybody. They check our uniforms every day. Mr. Richards is always upset because I keep forgetting my tie. Before we start lessons, we eat breakfast in the canteen. We have to bring our own box of snacks, but some students get sandwiches and hot tea. This is the best time to catch up with friends and check your homework.

We start lessons around 8.15 after a morning message given by the principal. She usually informs us about the timetable and extra activities. I take part in a chess club and a football club, but my mum wants me to join the school orchestra. Throughout the day, we have 4 classes that each last 90 minutes. In total, students take 8 courses each semester. At midday, students go to lunch and have the opportunity to engage in conversation with friends and teachers. After lunch, the day continues until 3.30 p.m. In the afternoon, many students attend after school activities, which includes things like tutoring, choir and athletics.

Additionally, during this time all the teachers are present. We can always get some help with our homework or projects. I get home around 5pm. What I don’t like about my school is the phone policy – we are not allowed to use telephones at all. Many students try to smuggle phones in, but they usually get caught and their phones are left in the office for parents to collect after classes.

See you soon.
